Gary Erickson forms in form
This porcelain spiral is punctuated by circular holes and adorned with green dots. Two spiral inclusions are ensconced within, one white textured and one with green dot decoration.
Spirals are the oldest of Gary's sculptural motifs. They are influenced by growth in nature.
His computer had photos of spiral galaxies along with many other spiraling things, but he also saw music and dance as spiraling infinitely forward and so, nestling spirals inside spirals becomes a metaphor for relationships.
Created during Erickson's summers living and working in Jingdezhen, the porcelain city of China.
Measures 10 x 6.5 x 5 inches (LxWxH)
