Gary Erickson yin yang
A porcelain sculpture that explores duality through a mix of textures and decorative techniques.
Gary used the lotus pod for a long standing series of sculptures and sculptural teapots. This cast porcelain piece is conceptually close to the heart of Gary's lifelong theme of connecting spirals. The two connected pods as well as the positive and negative space attached spirals embody the yin yang connection of all things, and of course he uses his usual layering of traditional Chinese decals.
Created during Erickson's summers living and working in Jingdezhen, the porcelain city of China.
Measures 7 x 5 x 5 inches (LxWxH)
